October: A Little More Time for What Matters

Dear Friends,

I didn’t think the world could move any faster, but somehow it has. As the holiday season approaches, I can already feel the pull to fill every open space on the calendar. This year, I’m hoping to push back against that hurry and make more room for the people and moments that matter most.

I’ll admit, I haven’t made slowing down particularly easy for myself. Bringing The Parrish Grove Inn to life while balancing a demanding corporate job has made for some very full days and nights. But it has also reminded me why I wanted to create this place. I wanted a welcoming space where friends and family linger around the table long after the meal is over, where conversations stretch into the evening on the back porch, and where there’s always a reason to gather. I wanted to create a space for the things I was craving.

This in our ambition every day at The Parrish Grove Inn. You can stroll through Historic Cocoa Village without watching the clock, rent bikes at Village Cycle Shoppe for a ride along the river, or spend an evening playing mahjongg with friends at our Bewitched and Bamboozled event this October (don’t forget the costumes!). We’re also looking forward to welcoming visitors during the Spade and Trowel Holiday Home Tour in November. We will have this old girl looking stunning for Christmas! I hope these gatherings give us all a chance to pause and enjoy the company around us.

So that’s my wish for all of us as we head toward the holidays: a little less rushing, a little more time with our people, and the wonderful feeling of being time rich.

See you on the porch,
Kristi
