History of The Parrish Grove Inn
Every home holds memories. For generations, this house has been part of local stories—from watching it travel downriver to sharing laughter and cocktails on the porch. Here, those memories live on.
The Pettee House, now known as The Parrish Grove Inn, is a grand historic home located in Cocoa Village, Florida. It was originally built in 1901 by Lyman F. Pettee, a wealthy grocer and snowbird from New York. The construction was notable at the time for including indoor plumbing and sophisticated use of wood work throughout the property. The family owned the home for two decades until it was sold to neighbor John Derby and then changed hands several times over the years. As it changed hands, so did the facade – the Queen Anne’s tower was added 30 years after the original construction.
The house also changed locations! In the early 2000s, it was bought by then Rockledge Mayor, Henry Parrish. He moved it from its original location on Rockledge Drive by barge on the Indian River to the current spot on Delannoy Avenue back in 2002. Henry ran the house as a bed and breakfast for several years and renamed it The Parrish Grove Inn. While he still lives next door in the Barnes House, he sold The Parrish Grove Inn property to Sotheby’s in 2020. Kristi Everingham bought the house from Sotheby’s in May of 2025 and set out to restore and update the home to its former glory and turn it back into the beloved bed and breakfast. We welcome you to stay in this beautiful home by booking a room, the whole house, or renting event space for your next celebration.
