September: My letter from the Front Porch
August was hot!!!
We had to rethink the way we do things around The Parrish Grove Inn as a result. Back Porch Uncorked had to move inside. We also tried a double-header of Rebellion Wine Education classes and sold them out in 24 hours – people love these sessions with the experts. We also finished up with another awesome night of Pizza on the Porch – so hot! But it was such a fun month at the Inn.
And here we are in September already! It has always felt a little like a fresh start. The kids are back in school, summer schedules begin to settle down, and we all start finding our rhythm again. Maybe it’s time to start planning a fall getaway?
If we were planning three perfect days in Historic Cocoa Village, we’d keep it simple: check into The Parrish Grove Inn, leave the car behind and start exploring. Wander the shops and restaurants, stroll along the Indian River, catch some live music and make your way back to the porch for a little downtime. The next morning, grab a bike and head down beautiful River Road beneath the moss-covered oaks before getting dressed up for an evening in the Village. September offers some especially good reasons to make a night of it, including Café Margaux’s wine dinner Sept 3 & 4 and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse the 4-13th this month. If you want to venture further, we are just a short drive to beautiful beaches, Kennedy Space Center, and Port Canaveral.
We hope one of those perfect evenings happens right here with us. Gather on the Grove Supper Club returns September 18, and it has quickly become one of our favorite things we do at The Parrish Grove. We’ll gather around one table for another intimate evening of thoughtfully prepared food, beautiful wines, and good conversation—this time bringing a few fall flavors to the table. Our Florida version of fall, of course!
Can’t make September happen? That’s the beauty of Cocoa Village. Depending on when you visit, there always seems to be something going on—live music, street festivals, wine tastings, performances, great restaurants and plenty of reasons to wander. Cocoa Beach may be our famous neighbor, but we like to think of Cocoa Village as its quieter side. Spend the morning with your toes in the Atlantic, explore the
Space Coast during the day, and come home to historic streets of the Village, locally owned restaurants, and a front porch at the end of it all.
Close to everything, without having to stay in the middle of everything.
Maybe that’s our version of fall in Florida—slowing down, finding your rhythm, and making time for a little getaway. Whenever you’re ready, we’ll save you a spot on the porch.
